All metallic, very sturdy. Gen2 vs BlendMount

Awesome product for mounting Valentine1 with rear view mirror in my vehicle - Subaru Forester.
All metallic and sturdy construction.
One would need the Hex screwdriver for mounting properly.
Instructions I followed:
1. Removed the suction cups from the suction mount provided with V1.
2. Screwed the remaining parts of the suction mount together with this Gen2 mount.
3. Paired Gen2 with rear view mirror's rod using a Hex driver.
4. Tightened the big plastic screws with hand to achieve desired stability of the mount.
Mount I considered along with Gen2:
BlendMount Your Valentine One Radar Detector. Custom Mount for Your V1.
The above mount was all plasticky and comes with warnings to make sure the rear view mirror rod is cylindrical only. I think Gen2 mount will not have this type of restriction as it has a guillotine type of mechanism to hold on to the rear view mirror. This mechanism I assume will be good for any rear view mirror irrespective of vehicle type. Please note I am not expert in types of rear view mirrors. This was my first time even noticing there was a rod behind it in my vehicle.
Moreover, I was not very convinced the BlendMount was sturdy enough for the long run to hold such an expensive piece of equipment- V1.
Also, Gen2 is half the cost of BlendMount. That was a win-win for me.

I don't usually write reviews, but this is a great product. Metal Constructions and very sturdy. I will be buying this again for future installs!!!

I ordered this for my V1 so that i could have a clean subtle look without having to use the suction cups. It fits great and looks awesome. I love it. Great product at a great price. Ive only had it for two weeks but it's stable and I actually purchased another one for a friend for xmas
